Bagabaga College of Education warmly welcomed staff and students from Overberg-Kolleg, Münster, Germany, to Tamale as part of a collaborative educational exchange programme aimed at fostering cross-cultural understanding and sharing best practices in teacher education.
The visit will form part of a growing partnership between the two institutions, which is focused on enhancing professional development, curriculum innovation, and mutual learning experiences. During their stay, the German delegation will engage in a series of interactive sessions with faculty and students of Bagabaga College of Education. Discussions centered on comparative education systems, sustainable teaching methodologies, and the integration of technology in teacher training.
Both institutions shared valuable insights into their respective educational philosophies. Overberg-Kolleg presented on adult and continuing education approaches in Germany, while Bagabaga College of Education showcased its commitment to training competent and reflective teachers for Ghana’s basic education system.
The programme also included cultural exchanges, school visits, and joint workshops on inclusive education and global citizenship. Participants expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and to explore potential areas for future collaboration, including staff exchange, joint research, and student mobility programmes.
In his remarks, the Principal of Bagabaga College of Education expressed gratitude to the visiting team from Overberg-Kolleg and reaffirmed the College’s commitment to deepening the partnership. Representatives from Overberg-Kolleg also commended the warm hospitality of their hosts and highlighted the importance of such global partnerships in promoting quality education and intercultural understanding.
