The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sagnarigu Municipality, Hon. Abdulai Imoro Gong, has demonstrated his commitment to supporting education by donating GH₵5,400 and four street lamps to the Bagabaga College of Education.

The donation, made on Friday, June 5, 2026, forms part of a pledge Hon. Gong made during the college’s 11th Congregation Ceremony, held on December 12, 2025.

The cheque and the street lamps were officially presented to the college and received by the Principal, Prof. Issahaku Gazali, together with members of the college’s management team.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Gong reiterated his commitment to the growth and development of the institution, emphasizing that the recent donation was only the beginning of several interventions planned for the college.

He disclosed that additional projects are in the pipeline, particularly the long-awaited BACE Model School Block, which is expected to enhance teaching and learning opportunities within the institution. According to the MCE, arrangements are far advanced, and he is confident that a sod-cutting ceremony for the project will take place before the end of the year.

“We remain committed to supporting educational development in the municipality. The Bagabaga College of Education plays a critical role in training future teachers, and we will continue to collaborate with the college to improve its infrastructure and learning environment,” Hon. Gong stated.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the college community, Prof. Gazali expressed gratitude to the MCE for fulfilling his promise and for his continued interest in the advancement of the institution.

The Principal noted that the cheque donation and street lamps would contribute significantly to addressing some immediate needs of the college while improving safety and visibility on campus.

He further thanked Hon. Gong on behalf of management, staff, students, and the entire college community, expressing optimism that the proposed BACE Model School project would soon become a reality.

The gesture has been widely welcomed by members of the college community, who view it as a testament to the importance of partnerships between educational institutions and local government authorities in promoting quality education and institutional development.
